Montecito

Valley Club

Originally designed by notable architect Lutah Maria Riggs in the 1960s, this architecturally significant home was constructed in the Japonaise style featuring sliding doors, gardens, and detailed woodwork and screens. A rare gem in Montecito, this home got a breath of fresh air after Brown Design Group stepped in to revitalize and renovate.

While many of the architectural elements were preserved, BDG made major changes to the floor plan. Two rooms became one to create an expansive kitchen featuring a double island – one for cooking, and the other for entertaining.
A geometric shelving unit designed by BDG mirrors the pendants above the large island. Last but not least, BDG mixed vintage and modern furnishings, artwork and accessories to create well-lived in, authentic and comfortable spaces at every turn.
