Central California

Laguna Vista

Located on a vintage golf course in Central California, this house, in its previous incarnation, was a woodsy 1970s California clunker, huge and dark with heavy stone floors. A local lifestyle blogger and her husband purchased it for its potential, asking Diego Monchamp of BDG to spearhead a remodel.

The Brown Design Group team worked with the owner’s contractor to create an open floor plan and lighten the main living spaces, just in time before the couple’s baby was born. The result is pristine white walls soaring up to vaulted ceilings, light-oak wide-plank wood flooring, built-in shelving, and an all-white kitchen with marble breakfast bar.
A textured blue grass-cloth wall covering softens the mood in the master bedroom, and herringbone and other tile patterns add unique visual appeal to the bathrooms.
